OPPO R9s now available for pre-order in Malaysia for RM1,798

From L-R: Ken Ng, Product Manager, OPPO; Gary Gong, Sales Director, OPPO Malaysia; Amber Chia, Malaysian supermodel; William Fang, Chief Executive Officer, OPPO Malaysia; Fattah Amin, Malaysian actor and singer; and Nikki Chen, Branding Director, OPPO Malaysia, during the launch of the OPPO R9s earlier today.

After some teasing on social media, OPPO has finally launched the R9s in Malaysia.

As we’ve previously reported, the R9s is equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), and a 3,010mAh battery that supports OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge technology.

OPPO says a mere five-minute charge would be sufficient enough to provide you with two hours of juice, and that you should be able to get up to 15 hours and 25 of battery life from a single full charge.

The R9s has respectable photography credentials as well, courtesy of its 16MP front and rear cameras. The camera on its front sports a 1/3-inch sensor and an aperture of f/2.0, while the one on its back packs a larger 1/2.8-inch Sony IMX398 image sensor, a wider aperture of f/1.7, electronic image stabilization, and dual phase detection autofocus technology.

The R9s will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with OPPO's ColorOS 3.0 on top, and will have dual Nano-SIM card slots, as well as a hydrophobic fingerprint scanner embedded in its home button that will reportedly unlock the device in 0.2 seconds.

We hope you like the color gold, because the R9s is only available in shades of Gold and Rose Gold. It will be retailing for RM1,798, and you can pre-order it through the OPPO Online Store, Lazada (Gold/Rose Gold), or 11street (Gold/Rose Gold) from now until next Friday, January 14, 2017. Shipments will commence the day after, on Saturday, January 15, 2017.

Prefer having a feel of the R9s before committing to a purchase? Just head on over to a Sen Heng outlet near you or any of the 1,200 OPPO Sales Points across Malaysia. The R9s will also be available through Maxis and Celcom, should you require a telco plan to go along with it.
