NVIDIA Releases 2012 Fiscal Earnings
For the fiscal period ending January 29, 2012, NVIDIA has reported revenue of US$4 billion, which is an increase of 12.8 percent from last year’s US$3.54 billion. GAAP earnings per share for the year were US$0.94 per diluted share, which is also an increase of last year’s US$0.43 per diluted share. Non-GAAP earning per share, on the other hand, were US$1.19 compared to last year’s US$0.81. Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2012 was US$953.2 million, which is a decrease of 10.6 percent from the previous quarter, though it is an increase of 7.5 percent over the same period last year.

Jen-Hsun Huang, President and CEO of NVIDIA said, “I am pleased with our achievements last year. Our GPU business grew sharply and with the success of Tegra, we established our position in the mobile market. We expect continued growth ahead, as Tegra 3 powers a new wave of phones, and Kepler, our new GPU architecture, sets new standards in visual and parallel computing.”
NVIDIA’s projected earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 are as follows:
- Revenue is expected to be between US$900 million and US$930 million
- GAAP gross margins are expected to be 49.2 percent, plus or minus one percentage point
- Non-GAAP gross margins are expected to be 49.5 percent, plus or minus one percentage point.
- GAAP operating expenses are expected to be approximately $383 million; non-GAAP operating expenses are expected to be approximately $340 million.
