New Sony Cyber-shot Cameras Offer Enhanced SteadyShot and Wi-Fi
Continuing with the deluge of announcements that is CES, Sony has announced seven new Cyber-shot cameras with enhanced Optical SteadyShot and Wi-Fi. The Cyber-shot WX200, WX80 and WX60 models feature Sony's Exmor R sensor, the WX200 and WX80 come with built-in Wi-Fi. Using the built-in Wi-Fi you can share your images wirelessly to your smartphone or tablet, and even use your smartphone as a remote to control the Cyber-shot.
The Optical SteadyShot feature on Exmor R CMOS models promise to be up to four times more effective than last year's models, cutting the effects of camera shake for sharper images (requisite disclaimer from Sony: Improvement in image stabilization performance of DSC-WX200, compared with previous model DSC-WX100. Also "newly refined" on all three Exmor R models, Superior Auto makes automatic shooting even more superior.
The Cyber-shot WX200, WX80 and WX60 are the slim models for light carrying and everyday shooting. The TF1 is the new rugged, snow, sand, dust, freeze-proof camera which can go underwater up to 10m. The H200 is the far-seeing model, with a 26x optical zoom range. The W730 and W710 are basic entry-level models.
