MSI launches three new Workstation notebooks for graphics design

If you’re in the market for a new workstation notebook, then you may want to look at MSI’s new workstation notebooks.

The PC components and notebook maker unveiled three new workstation class notebooks at an event held for the media, colleges, and members of the graphics designing industry.

The three primary notebooks that were announced were the WT73VR, WE72VR, and the WS63.

The MSI WT73VR is the flagship model of three major workstation notebooks that were announced at MSI's event today.

The WT73VR is essentially the flagship of three, and with good reason. This mobile workstation is MSI only workstation notebook at current that houses the beastly NVIDIA Quadro P5000, a workstation graphics that houses 16GB of GDDR5 graphics memory based on the latest Pascal architecture. Other specs include a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display, an Intel Core i7-7820HK CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and a 1TB HDD. Like so many of MSI’s notebooks, this notebook is also VR Ready, giving graphic designers the ability to work and apply their projects in the new VR format.

The WT73VR will retail at RM24,999 (GST included) at launch.

the MSI WE72VR.

Second on the list is the WE72VR. At RM9,699 (GST included), this workstation notebook is considered to be the most affordable notebook of the three, sporting an Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, an NVIDIA Quadro M2200 4GB, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and a 1TB HDD. Like the WT73VR, the WE72VR is also VR Ready and capable of running any VR applications that is currently available on the market. Outputting all that power is a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display. It’s important to note that of the three notebooks, the WE72VR is the only one on this list that still uses an NVIDIA GPU based on the older Maxwell architecture.

The MSI WS63 is still a VR Ready machine, despite the absence of the VR moniker in its name.

Last but not least is the WS63. Don’t let its name fool you: despite not having the VR moniker to the name, this notebook is still VR Ready. It’s chassis is actually based off of MSI’s Stealth gaming series notebook, more specifically, the GS63VR. Inside the notebook, consumers will be getting an Intel Core i7-7700HQ, a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, NVIDIA’s Quadro P3000 6GB, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and a 1TB HDD to help allow you to store all your files from whichever designer program you’re using.

The WS63 will retail for RM12,899 (GST included) at launch.

MSI has yet to announce when these notebooks will be available, but we’ll update this article with that particular information the minute it becomes available.
