LG Display to Showcase 5.5-inch Full HD Display for Mobile Devices at CES 2013

Display technologies and innovations will take center stage at CES 2013 as LG Display just announced that it will be showcasing its latest innovations in display technology resolution and design.

The company will be exhibiting a full HD 5.5-inch smartphone display with a pixel density of 403ppi, alongside a 7-inch tablet display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels (324ppi). A new 12.9-inch laptop panel with QSXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,700) will also be showcased.

Other highlights include its first lineup of Ultra High Definition (UHD) TV displays and the world's highest resolution 4K2K monitor. For the former, the UHD display panels will utilize the company's Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) passive 3D technology. The latter is a 30-inch 4K2K monitor that sports a jaw-dropping resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels. Its viewing clarity is touted as unparalleled, and is expected to be used by professionals in the medicine and design sectors.

Display design is another area that LG Display wishes to focus on during CES. For example, the next generation "Neo-Blade Series" from its Narrow Bezel lineup will include a 23.8-inch monitor panel with an ultra narrow bezel, a 13.3-inch laptop panel with a bezel narrower than 2mm, and a 4.7-inch mobile display with an estimated 1mm bezel.
