Intel Malaysia Kicks Off Generation Today Campaign

Yesterday, Intel Malaysia kicked off its latest campaign, the 'Generation Today' campaign. A campaign aimed to promote the latest Intel-powered PCs, the 'Generation Today' campaign allows customers to trade in an old Intel-powered PC (both desktops and notebooks) for a cash rebate of up to RM300. The rebate can then be used to purchase a brand new Intel-powered device from participating partners.

At the event, Norhizam Kadir, National Sales Manager of Intel Malaysia was present to speak about the campaign. He explained that many still own computers that are over four years old, with aging components and slow performance. To escape this slow performance, users can upgrade to a new PC.

Kadir said, “A study has shown that over 300 million computers around the world are over four years old, and 65% of these older PCs are bulky desktops. Old PCs should not hold us back from our fast paced lifestyles and it is time to upgrade to the latest technology available to us.”

The 'Generation Today' campaign will begin May 22 and run until December 31. Multiple roadshows across 14 cities in Malaysia will be held in conjunction with this campaign. There will also be plenty of on-ground activities and contests. Among these activities include the 'Longest Touch Challenge', and the 'Experience of a Lifetime' contest.

The Longest Touch Challenge is where participants touch two opposing screens, and stretch as far as they can. The Experience of a Lifetime contest, on the other hand, is where participants stand a chance to win an exclusive experience worth RM8,000. The experiences include a VIP Fine Dining for two, a trip to Bali, a helicopter ride for four, a dinner on a yacht, or a musical experience in Singapore for two.
