I AM Nikon Photo Awards 2012 Broadens Photography Perspectives
Last year, Nikon Club Malaysia held the I AM Nikon Annual Photo Award 2012 and invited photographers from all walks of life to showcase their talents and share their amazing photographs. Held from January 1 to September 30, 2012, the contest proved to be the perfect opportunity for photographers to acknowledge each other, as well as stimulate diverse points of view through competition. An impressive 73,000 photo entries were gathered, making this the largest contest to be held-to-date in terms of submissions and entrants.
Out of the lot, three photographers walked away with the top prizes. Abdillah Ahmad wowed the judges with his entry of grinning, carefree Orang Asli children, which he took with a Nikon D7000, while Ahmad Radhafizal Che Kassim won with his bird's eye view of a Pasar Besar (big market) taken with the same model of camera. Mohd Fauzi Ibrahim's Nikon D90 also captured an award-winning portrait of a farmer in silhouette tending to his lone buffalo.
These three award-winners walked away with a V1 Double Zoom Kit Set (10-30mm, 30-110mm), Speed Light and RM2,000 worth of cash, as well as a certificate and trophy. Apart from the three top winners, five consolation prizes were also won by participants, Mohd Azli Yah, Mohammad Syahrul Mohd, Wilson Koh Wee Siong, Ranggau Anak Gom and Mohamad Zaki Mokhtar, who each took home a Nikon J1 Double Zoom Kit Set (10-30mm, 30-110mm), RM1,000 in cash, as well as a certificate and trophy.
Owing to the public's overwhelming response for I AM NIKON Annual Photo Awards 2012, the 2013 edition of the awards has also begun and will take place from now until September 30, 2013.
