Huawei Takes the Lead in the Desktop Cloud Movement
Shenzhen, China – Taking advantage of the scalability and flexibility of the cloud, Huawei has 45,000 of its engineers utilize virtual desktops in their day-to-day tasks as part of the world's largest desktop cloud collaboration. Using a thin client architecture, data is no longer stored on each PC, enabling Huawei engineers to access their virtual desktops anytime, anywhere in the world.
In addition to improved efficiency and information security, maintenance has also become more efficient, as the IT engineers are capable of handling more than 1,000 virtual desktops, as opposed to the previous 100 desktops. It is estimated that businesses can save up to 30% of a traditional investment and 73% in power consumption, while the deployment time for desktop cloud is also reduced from three months to one week.
