HP Unveils True Business-centric Tablet

A couple of years back, when the tablet market was just hitting its boiling point, HP entered the heated race with the WebOS powered TouchPad. Sadly, it couldn't keep up with the competition and hence was shelved.

Adamant to still be a part of the tablet race, HP has recently revealed that they will release yet another tablet, but this time they have designed it more for the enterprise segments instead of consumers as it balances a beautiful design with enterprise-grade features, functionality, serviceability and support.

The ElitePad 900 may have a 10.1-inch diagonal display but it is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand and weighs just 0.68-kilos and is 9.2mm thin. It also boasts a 16-by-10 aspect ratio that maximizes the display area for ideal viewing of traditional business applications, as well as video content

Besides productivity, the ElitePad 900 has features such as a 1080p front-facing video camera and 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and is pre-loaded with CyberLink YouCam software that helps users easily communicate face-to-face, create HD web videos or record training video without high production costs

Dubbed the HP ElitePad 900, this ultra-thin and lightweight tablet designed for Windows 8 and for business and governments, features the optional HP ElitePad Smart Jackets, which not only adds extra connectivity options but also an ultra-slim battery that lengthens its runtime along with add-ons that customize the tablet for specialized use. Much like HP's Elite PCs, it offers full serviceability, enhanced security, manageability and military-grade durability for drops, vibration, dust, temperature extremes and high altitude.

“Businesses used to face a tough purchase decision: How to find a product that will delight employees and help them be more productive, while also making sure IT can secure and manage it,” said Kim Dae Hwan, country general manager, Printing and Personal Systems, Hewlett-Packard Malaysia. “The HP ElitePad meets all those tests. It combines the great style and user experience consumers demand with the features IT requires.”

Powered by Intel's next-gen mobile processors, the HP ElitePad delivers on-the-go productivity and Intel x86 compatibility for existing business application support

While there are a lot of aspects that make the HP ElitePad 900 unique, what makes it stand out from the sea of tablets is its HP Smart Jackets and additional accessories designed specifically to expand the tablet's potential, turning it into a total enterprise solution:

1. HP ElitePad Productivity Jacket — includes an integrated keyboard, connectivity ports, SD card reader and adjustable viewing angles for a complete computing experience.

2. HP ElitePad Expansion Jacket — adds USB, HDMI and other connectivity to get more done on the go. Add even longer battery life when bundled with the optional HP ElitePad Jacket battery.

3. HP ElitePad Rugged Case — provides military-grade reliability and enhances the stylish profile of the ElitePad for added protection.

4. HP ElitePad Docking Station — delivers an enterprise-class desktop experience with an added keyboard and monitor and also charges the tablet. Or, use it to set the tablet up as a secondary screen for phenomenal multitasking.

5. HP Executive Tablet Pen — lets customers write messages and notes in their natural handwriting directly on screen and then save or convert to typed text for use in other applications.
