edotco Malaysia will be boosting network signals of major telcos during KL SEA Games

Ever been to a concert and noticed how incredibly long it takes for you to upload photos and videos onto social media, despite the fact that you’re standing out in the open in the middle of Kuala Lumpur?

This is due to something called network congestion, which tends to happen when you have a ton of people congregated in a small area, like a concert. Because just like you, everyone else is frantically trying to upload photos, videos or livestream the concert happening right in front of them, but there simply isn’t enough network bandwidth to cater to the demand, resulting in a bottleneck.

With the KL SEA Games happening over the next few weeks, droves of people from across the region will be streaming through the doors of the various stadiums and sports complexes across the city to catch their favorite athletes in action.

But despite the large crowd, you shouldn’t have to worry about experiencing network congestions, because edotco Malaysia has been gracious enough to strengthen the network signals of mobile network operators using its communications assets, which have been installed in the various venues of the KL SEA Games.

From L-R: Nor Azhar Hassan, Head of Infrastructure, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission; Tn. Haji Abdurrahman Othman, Director of Corporate Affairs, edotco Malaysia; and Dato’ Mohd Ali Hanafiah Mohd Yunus, Communications and Digital Ecosystem Sector Chief Officer, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, checking the connectivity on their mobile phones in the edotco hub room in the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

For example, in-building cellular enhancement systems (IBC) comprising distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other infrastructure have been installed on the pillars and ceiling of the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Multi-beam antennas, meanwhile, have been installed in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, ensuring that mobile network operators will be able to cater everyone within the stadium – even if it’s at full capacity.

As for the KL Sports City and other SEA Games venues, edotco Mobility Solutions (eMOS) will be deployed to serve as additional telecommunications infrastructure, catering to the surge in users.
