DiGi's 'Challenge for Change' Program Brings About Positive Ideas

The telco recently launched the fourth edition of its annual Challenge for Change program.

DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) recently got underway with the fourth edition launch of its annual Challenge for Change program. This time around, DiGi's program has shifted its focus on challenging Malaysians to develop and create innovative ideas for mobile apps, which can bring other Malaysians together in a positive way. The telco also took the opportunity to introduce the Prime Minister’s Innovation Award as the grand prize for the first time.

The program is meant to empower Malaysians to effectively build apps for other Malaysians, developing meaningful social change. DiGi has also received supports from corporations such as Microsoft Malaysia and Google Malaysia, who are both invested in its Challenge for Change idea. MDeC and PEMANDU were also contributors to the initiative, offering support via their own platforms.

Henrik Clausen, CEO at DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd. Henrik spoke highly of his company's initiative in empowering Malaysians to develop apps that would benefit other Malaysians.

“We know that the mobile internet can be a powerful tool to drive real socio-economic opportunities for the local communities and businesses,” Henrik Clausen, DiGi's CEO comments with regards to his company's ambition to enable Internet for All. “Our Challenge for Change program builds on this philosophy and takes our internet For All mission into a very important area of our business today -mobile applications. Through this challenge, we leverage the collective expertise of DiGi and our partners to empower Malaysians to unearth good ideas that foster the spirit of community to benefit fellow Malaysians,” Henrik further stated.
