HTC remains low on the radar scope this year with no new tablet models in the market, but the Taiwanese company is said to be entering the scene again next year with Windows RT.

According to Bloomberg, a person familiar with the company's plans shared that HTC is working on two tablets: a 12-inch and a 7-inch version that have telephony capability. Besides running on Windows RT, the two tablets are reported to use Qualcomm processors. The tablets are tentatively schedule for a release in Q3 2013.

Windows 8 tablets have been considered before by HTC, but the plans were eventually dropped as the tablets would cost around US$1,000. Although HTC was turned down for participation in the initial round of Windows RT devices, the company is now seen as a likely partner after close collaboration between the two companies for Windows Phone 8.

So far, HTC has only released one tablet, the 7-inch Flyer which is powered by Google Android. However, things did not turn out as expected and the company focused its efforts on the smartphone market. Hopefully, HTC will be able to make a comeback with the two Windows RT tablets.
