ASUS Unveils Plethora of High-End Z87 Motherboards
As the launch of Intel's 4th Generation Intel Core processors draws closer, many of their OEM partners are already prepared as they have a wide range of new motherboards designed to unleash the full potential of Intel's new processors and exclusive technology. One of the top global brands in the components market, ASUS, are also more than prepared, as they recently unveiled a new range of motherboards that promises to provide users with the best experience, performance, stability and upgrade options.
“ASUS possesses the best research and development expertise, and as always we are confident that we offer our customers the finest quality with these new motherboards. We’re including a variety of media-praised exclusive features with each model, and are proud to announce that we have the most comprehensive Z87 motherboard launch lineup, all available simultaneously”, commented Jackie Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Sales, ASUS Open Platform Business Group.
These news Z87 motherboards boast complete redesigns and some even come in a new premium gold scheme that is used to symbolize ASUS' insistence on delivering the highest standards of innovation, performance and reliability. The new motherboards will of course cover a wide-range of customer segments, led by the high-end Z87-DELUXE, which delivers the most features and advanced connectivity. The Z87-A is aimed at mainstream builds, while retaining exclusive ASUS features and full tapping into the Z87's performance. Additional models positioned in between these are the Z87-PRO and Z87-PLUS. The Z87I-DELUXE brings Z87 to mini-ITX form factors while the Z87 WS meets the requirements of workstation applications
Some of the noteworthy features that will be included with these new boards include Dual Intelligent Processors 4 with 4-Way Optimization, the TPU performance tuning chip, EPU energy consumption manager, DIGI+ Power Control, and Fan Xpert 2. These features will ensure real-time performance optimization, better energy efficiency, precise digital power control, and detailed case fan management for reduced noise and improved cooling. Then there's also the Away Mode which allows customers to download and stream content or backup data with minimal power draw.
For hardcore gamers, ASUS' ROG brand will also offer the new MAXIMUS VI HERO and MAXIMUS VI GENE. Both motherboards will feature SupremeFX audio that is able to rival discrete audio cards in terms of power and clarity and the Sonic Radar on-screen overlay, which shows the location and direction of in-game sound sources for greater success in competitive gaming. Another little extra found on the MAXIMUS VI GENE is the mPCIe Combo II that enables more data transfer and networking options, with support for the new NGFF SSD connectivity.
The ROG flagship, MAXIMUS VI EXTREME, is the perfect platform for overclockers who want to set world overclocking records as it comes bundled with OC Panel, a real-time overclocking and system monitoring console that can be placed in a 5.25-inch drive bay or used externally and also supports high-speed DDR3 memory at over 3GHz.
Finally, the new Z87 motherboards from ASUS will also come in the TUF variant namely the SABERTOOTH Z87 and GRYPHON Z87. Both are designed to deliver rigorously-tested TUF cooling and durability even under the most demanding usage conditions and use high-durability components such as Japan-made 10K Black Metallic capacitors which support 20% greater extreme temperature tolerance and five times the lifespan of generic capacitors.
Certain features such as Thermal Armor motherboard covers have also been revamped with an airflow-boosting flow valve design while TUF Fortifier backplates reinforce the motherboards against bending and bowing. Finally, Dust Defender adds special enclosures that protects expansion slots and connectors against debris accumulation, also promoting greater system longevity.
These new motherboards from ASUS will be available in Malaysia from June 9 onwards and pricing and availability for specific models may vary.
