ASUS reveals pricing for its new ZenBooks and VivoBooks in Malaysia
A day before COMPUTEX 2017 officially commenced, ASUS held its annual conference at a location outside of the convention halls. During that conference, Jonney Shih, Chairman of ASUS, announced a total of five new notebook models to the crowd.
The announced lineup comprised of three new ZenBook and two VivoBook notebooks. Specifically, those notebook models were the ZenBook Flip S, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe, and the ZenBook Pro for the Zenbook lineup, while the VivoBooks were comprise of the VivoBook S and VivoBook Pro.
Earlier today, ASUS Malaysia finally announced its ZenBook and VivoBook lineup in Malaysia, but more importantly, the company also announced the official pricing for each respective model.
Upon availability, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe will retail at an SRP of RM8,299. For that price, you get a machine fitted with a 14-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) NanoEdge display, an Intel Core i7 U-series CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD for lightning-fast storage, a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a fingerprint scanner built into its side.
The second ZenBook model, the ZenBook Pro, will retail at RM7,299. At that price point, the notebook comes with an Intel Core i7 H-series CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD, but more importantly, it is the only ZenBook model of three that comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti discrete GPU.
The third ZenBook model, the ZenBook Flip S, is the 2-in-1 convertible notebook, and quite possibly the darling of the three. No w, it should be pointed out that while this model comes with a choice of either a Full HD or a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution display, the model that ASUS will be bringing in initially is the Full HD variant. On that note, the ZenBook Flip S with the Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display variant will retail at an SRP of RM6,699, and for that price, you’ll be getting 8GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD, as well as an Intel Core i7 U-series CPU.
ASUS did make it clear that they will be bringing in the ZenBook Flip S with the 4K display into the country, but fell short of providing us with a specific date.
Moving forward, the VivoBook Pro is set to launch with a starting SRP of RM3,999. For that price, consumers will be getting the variant with a Full HD display (no news as to when ASUS will be bringing in the variant with the 4K display), 16GB of RAM, a 51GB SSD and 2TB HDD combo, Intel Optane Memory, a choice between an Intel Core i5 of Core i7 CPU, and last but not least, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 discrete GPU.
Last on the list is the VivoBook S. According to ASUS, the company will be bringing in two SKUs at prices of RM2,899 and RM3,699.
At the price of the former, consumers will get a VivoBook S with an Intel Core i5 U-series CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 1TB HDD. Pay the additional RM800, however, and consumers can opt for the model with a faster and more powerful Intel Core i7, as well as the additional 128GB SSD. Both models come with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940MX discrete GPU.
Once again, you can read our coverage of these products during COMPUTEX 2017 for a more in-depth look of the notebooks.
