AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 1950X wins CES 2018 Best of Innovation Award

AMD recently received a CES 2018 Best of Innovation Award for its Ryzen Threadripper 1950X CPU. The CPU is one of the first recipients to receive the coveted award in the Computer Hardware and Components category.

“The overwhelmingly positive response from enthusiasts and expert reviewers that greeted the release of AMD Ryzen Threadripper already served as a huge reward for the AMD whole engineering team who built this ground-breaking product,” John Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer, AMD said. “Now, with its selection as a CES 2018 Best of Innovation Award winner, Ryzen Threadripper achieves a special standing and place of leadership in the incredible history of processor innovation.”

It’s not wrong to say that AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor is the company’s most powerful CPU to date. Built to house its 16-cores, 32-threads on its 14nm ‘Zen’ architecture, the CPU is capable of reaching a maximum clockspeed of 4GHz running on all cores,

The Ryzen Threadripper 1950X also marked a comeback for AMD into the enthusiast and high-end performance CPU market after a long absence. In fact, the last enthusiast-level CPU that came out of AMD was FX9590 CPU.
