ViewSonic V3D231 - 3D Display Made Affordable
ViewSonic produces quality displays for affordable prices. With 3D slowly becoming more mainstream, 3D capable displays, in turn, are slowly gaining ground in today’s market. Not wanting to be left behind by its competitors, ViewSonic introduces the V3D231, a 3D LED monitor that is capable of supporting 1080p videos with the added bonus of 3D capability. We examine the 23” display to find out whether it is an ideal choice for casual consumer.

Design
In terms of aesthetics, the ViewSonic V3D231 is not particularly eye-catching, and in fact looks rather similar to many of the monitors out there. Like most LED monitors in the market today, it too has a glossy black sheen that you can expect to be covered with fingerprint smudges in no time. On the positive side, the V3D231 does embody a simple, understated design that works and has an overall solid feel to it.
Assembling the V3D231 is about as easy as it gets. After taking the monitor out of the box, simply slot the base joint of the stand to the neck of the monitor and you’re done. We had no problems setting up the V3D321 and the base itself seems reassuringly stable in holding the display up without wobbling too much.

As is common with other monitors, the V3D231 can be tilted back to adjust your viewing angle. Having said that, you won’t be adjusting its height or swivel it from left to right any time soon. Despite their omissions, it’s not much of a problem as it is recommended for the display to remain static and stable when viewing 3D content.

Moving on to the connectivity options around the V3D231, all the ports are located at the rear of the display and are designed to be direct insert ports, making them both easy to locate and reach. The available ports include HDMI, DVI, VGA, plus 3.5mm audio and power input.
