Finally, after the first wave of Intel Ultrabooks that hit Malaysian shores months ago, we are starting to see more brands fine-tuning their offerings and rolling out their second wave of these slim and portable laptops. And Toshiba is no exception. Following the success of the Toshiba Portégé Z830, the brand has decided to introduce the Toshiba Satellite U840 into the current market as well.

Boasting the same slim form factor of Ultrabooks that we have come to adore, our review unit also came packed with the 2nd Generation Intel Core i5-2467M processor and even comes equipped with a 14-inch screen – a first for Toshiba's Ultrabooks. Heralded as the new standard in style and mobility, we were eager to put this baby to the test to see just how true these claims were.
