WD Reported Q1 Revenue of US$2.7 Billion and Net Income of US$239 Million

Western Digital (WD) Corp. reported their shipment of 58 million hard-drive units had generated a revenue of US$2.7 billion and a net income of US$239 million (or US$1.01 per share) at the end of its first fiscal quarter on September 30, 2011. This also included WD's expense of US$21 million from its planned acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies on March 7, 2011.
The company had generated US$352 million in cash from its operations during the September quarter and ended with a total cash equivalent of US$3.7 billion.
