Sony to Double Number of E-mount Lenses by End 2013
Sony to Double Number of E-mount Lenses by End 2013
When the Sony NEX system was launched in 2010, there were three E-mount lenses (excluding the two converters); now, this number has increased to seven. But this pales in comparison to the number of native lenses (we counted 27) available for the Micro Four Thirds system.

According to DPReview, Sony will have 15 lenses for the NEX system ready by the end of 2013. This means eight new lenses between now and then. A look at the roadmap reveals four Sony zoom lenses, three Sony primes (or fixed focal length lenses), and one Sony G lens (which is also a zoom lens). Sadly, there’s no mention of any new Carl Zeiss lens. Based on Sony’s track record, it’s likely that we’ll see some mockups in future trade shows, such as Photokina in September this year.
