Sony Announces Its 500mm Super-telephoto SAL500F40G Lens
Sony has launched its new 500mm super-telephoto lens.

Ideal for imaging applications which require extreme magnification, the SAL500F40G is the longest fixed focal length G lens from Sony to date. With a bright F4.0 maximum aperture, its focusing ring and front/rear joints are protected by interlocking seals that shrug off dust and moisture, even when you're shooting under rainy conditions.
Compatible with the SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system which is featured in every α Translucent Mirror and DSLR camera from Sony, the Nano AR Coating process which is incorporated by the SAL500F40G, cuts internal reflections by up to 80% compared with previous models.
Built to order, the SAL500F40G super-telephoto lens will be available at all Sony stores and Sony-authorised outlets from March 2012.
