Sapphire Unleashes New Cards Based on AMD Radeon HD 7700 GPUs

Graphics cards, motherboards and mini-PC manufacturer Sapphire has recently launched a new series of graphics cards based on AMD’s latest Radeon HD 7700 GPU series. Targeted at enthusiasts on a budget and mainstream users seeking powerful graphics performance, the Sapphire HD 7700 comes in three different flavors.

The Sapphire HD 7770 GHz Edition has a core clock speed of 1GHz and a memory clock speed of 1125MHz. To keep the GPU cool, a single-fan custom cooling solution is used. There’s also a Sapphire HD 7770 GHz OC Edition card, which features a factory overclocked core clock speed of 1150MHz and a memory clock speed of 1250MHz. The OC Edition features the same single-fan custom cooling solution as the standard Sapphire HD7770 GHz Edition. Finally, there’s the Sapphire HD 7750, which has a core clock speed of 800MHz and a memory clock speed of 1125MHz. Pricing for all three cards were unavailable at time of writing.

All three cards come bundled with Sapphire's overclocking software, TriXX that allows users to fine tune the voltage, core clock, and memory clock speed. This software also monitors the temperature of the GPU to ensure that users do not push the card too far. Apart from that, up to four different profiles can be saved to quickly access stored settings.

Other highlights of the cards include DirectX 11.1 support (releasing with Windows 8) and PCIe 3.0 interfaces. AMD Eyefinity technology is also present, with the Sapphire HD 7750 supporting up to four monitors and the Sapphire HD 7770 models supporting up to six.
