Sales of Microsoft's Surface has been highly encouraging
In a new blog post, Brian Hall, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President for Devices Marketing, claimed that this past November was the “best month ever” for consumer Surface sales. No exact numbers are cited, but we think it’s reasonable to assume this was lead by the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, and further aided by their various discounts (including accessories like Surface Pen) during this holiday shopping period.
Interestingly, Microsoft also says that more people are switching from Mac to Surface than ever before. The company’s trade-in program for MacBooks certainly lent a hand, but Microsoft goes on to say that’s also due to consumers’ disappointment with the new MacBook Pro. Ouch.
Microsoft’s Brian Hall:
"Our trade-in program for MacBooks was our best ever, and the combination of excitement for the innovation of Surface coupled with the disappointment of the new MacBook Pro – especially among professionals – is leading more and more people to make the switch to Surface, like this. It seems like a new review recommending Surface over MacBook comes out daily. This makes our team so proud, because it means we’re doing good work."
Well, one man’s loss is another man’s gain, we suppose.
In other news, Microsoft has announced that the Surface Book with Performance Base is now available in Australia and New Zealand, and starting early 2017, it will go on sale in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, and the UK.
