Pretec Introduces Wireless Storage

Pretec has debuted its lineup of wireless storage products that include the Wi-Fi-enabled Y5 SD Card and Y5 Portable Wireless Drive.

While cloud applications are getting more popular than ever, many people still rely on external storage devices for home and business environments

The Y5 SD card can turn a camera into a wireless device for immediate file transfer through a wireless network. This enables users to share media files via Wi-Fi network with other mobile devices, meaning that they can move more freely and easily between cloud and local data storage.

The Y5 Portable Wireless Drive can be used as a rechargeable portable storage that can act as a wireless SD card reader or a Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to eight mobile devices simultaneously. The Pretec Y5 Drive is also able to stream HD videos with up to three mobile devices as well. The Y5 Portable Wireless Drive will available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB, with the latter available later this year. The built-in USB powered rechargeable battery can provide up to four hours of continuous video streaming.
