NEC Bolsters Cloud Service Protection with CA Technologies

Islandia, NY and Tokyo, JapanNEC Corporation has just announced a new joint venture with CA Technologies to provide a more robust security solution for its cloud services.

CA Technologies will be offering up its CA ArcotID secure software credential to be paired with NEC’s NC7000-3A ID utilization infrastructure software, as well as NEC Mobile Security to offer an added level of security to mobile and tablet users.

Furthermore, this added level of security will also make it easier to build services utilizing multi-device authentication and multiple service identities.

"Mobility increases the complexity of security and how to control access and use of services and applications," said Shigeru Okuya, Vice President and Senior General Manager, Carrier Services Operations Unit of NEC Corporation. "When we set out to deliver a cloud service for our customers that made security transparent and easy for their end-users, we chose CA Technologies. The company protects more than 150 million identities with its authentication technology and does it with combined convenience and security - something demanded by customers and end-users."

This new service will be available in 30 countries beginning March 2012 and NEC expects the primary customers will include telecommunications operators and providers of related content.
