Make Your Friends Envious with the HP ENVY14 Spectre

Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaHP has officially revealed the HP ENVY14 Spectre (previously covered here and here), a uniquely designed Ultrabook that combines performance with drop-dead gorgeous design. The Spectre is the first to use lightweight, scratch-resistant glass on the lid, display, palmrest and HP ImagePad. It also features reduced bezel thickness, fitting a full 14-inch diagonal screen inside a 13.3-inch inch diagonal body.

The Spectre’s display also features HP’s Radiance Display, a display technology that offers some of the industry’s highest resolution and accurate color reproduction. For those who like to work in low-lit environments, the Spectre features the HP Radiance Backlit keyboard that has a dedicated LED on each keycap. A proximity sensor intelligently senses a user’s presence, lighting up when a user approaches and dimming down after he or she leaves.

Another unique feature of the Spectre is the integrated Beats Audio system. This Ultrabook sports an exclusive, high-performance stereo system developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre. There’s an aluminum analog volume dial that allows users to precisely control their volume via the bundled Beats Audio Manager software. Apart from that, HP’s Wireless Audio technology allows users to stream uncompressed audio to up to four devices, while the HP Touch to Share feature allows for near-field communications (NFC) between selected NFC-enabled smartphones and the Spectre.

The Spectre is powered by the latest 2nd Generation Intel Core processors, and weighs less than 1.8kg with a thinness of 20mm. For storage, there’s a 256GB mSATA SSD configured with Intel’s Rapid Start Technology. There are also plenty of I/O connectivity options including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI and Mini DisplayPorts. Bundled with every Spectre are full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10, as well as a two-year subscription to Norton Internet Security.

Robin Seow, Vice President, Marketing for HP Personal Systems Group in Asia Pacific and Japan said, “We chose the Spectre name to evoke mystery, and we packed it with the best in entertainment technology to satisfy those who expect the unexpected.”

The HP ENVY14 Spectre is expected to be available in Malaysia in April 2012 at an approximate SRP of RM4,999.
