LG Brings 3D Sound to the Home

Even before CES 2012 gets underway, LG has already made the announcement that this year at the show, it will be introducing four new home theaters systems, starting with the unveiling of the BH9420PW, a 9.1-channel 3D Sound Home Theater model.

Scheduled to be launched by March 2012, the BH9420PW features LG-exclusive 3D Sound Zooming technology, which is capable of generating a variety of depth in sound based on a complex algorithm that analyzes the varying depth of numerous on-screen objects displayed on the 3D TV.

The system is also able to achieve a 9.1-channel setting by adding four upright 3D speakers in addition to the traditional 5.1-channel system. These upright speakers not only pump sound upwards, but also come with an integrated 360-degree reflector, which mimics the rich acoustics often found in concert halls.

By leveraging on LG’s 3D effect DSP algorithm, the Sound Field Expansion technology works with the four upright speakers to extend the audio 'sweet spot', allowing viewers to have the most immersive experience regardless of their position in the room.
