HP unleashes a buffet of business-oriented multifunction printers
Now that we’ve covered everything you need to know about the HP ENVY 15, Elitebook Folio G1, and Spectre 13, it’s now time for us to run you through the five multifunction printers that were unveiled alongside the notebooks earlier today.
First and foremost, the HP OfficeJetPro 8730, an all-in-one inkjet printer that can handle your printing, scanning, copying, and faxing needs. It handles all four tasks pretty efficiently too, despite using inkjet technology.
It has a print speed of up to 24 pages per minute (ppm), a duplex scan speed of up to 23 images per minute (ipm), a copy speed of up to 22 copies per minute (cpm), and a fax transmission speed of four seconds per page.
In fact, you don’t even have to be physically connected to the OfficeJetPro 8730 in order to your documents printed, as its wireless capability allows you to transfer and print documents from your smartphone and tablet over-the-air. Don’t worry, the OfficeJetPro 8730 also comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen that you can use for troubleshooting, should you need to.
Some of the OfficeJetPro 8730’s other features include a 50-page automatic document feeder, and a 250-sheet input tray, which can be supplemented with an additional 250-sheet input tray to increase its maximum paper capacity to 500 sheets.
But if you really need to have your documents printed out urgently, you might want to consider the HP PageWidePro 577dw laser multifunction printer instead, which can likewise print, scan, copy, and fax your documents, albeit in a brisker manner.
That’s because the PageWidePro 577dw has a print speed of up to 50 ppm, a copy speed of up to 50 cpm, and a duplex scanning speed of up to 26 ipm. It shares the same four-second fax speed and 4.3-inch touchscreen as the OfficeJetPro 8730, though.
Naturally, the larger footprint of the PageWidePro 577dw allows it to accommodate a bigger paper handling tray – which can hold up to 500 sheets of paper – and a bigger automatic document feeder that can handle up to 50 sheets of paper. If you were wondering, you can choose to increase the paper handling capacity of the PageWidePro 577dw to 2,300 sheets by equipping it with additional paper trays.
Last but not least, we have the HP PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586 printers, which comprises of the PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586dn, the PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586f, and the PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586z.
The PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586z would serve as the head of the pack, as it comes with the most complete set of features amongst the three. It has as print speed of up to 75 ppm, a duplex scan speed of up to 70 ipm, a copy speed of up to 50 cpm, and a three-second-per-page fax speed. Not only does it come with an 8-inch touchscreen, it also has a pull-out keyboard for easier data entry, a 500-sheet input tray (which can be further expanded), and a 100-sheet automatic document feeder.
Now then, the prices. The HP OfficeJetPro 8730 will be retailing for RM1,379, while the HP PageWidePro 577dw will be going for RM3,199. The HP PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586dn, 586f, and 586z will selling for RM7,049, RM7,629, and RM8,159 respectively. All five printers will only be available for purchase from July onwards.
