Higher-than-HD Resolution with Canon's XEED WUX4000

Widescreen Images and High Brightness Levels for Versatile Usage

Canon has announced its first high-resolution projector for the installation market. The WUXGA XEED WUX4000 multimedia projector is able to project WUXGA (1920x1200) widescreen images with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a high brightness level of 4,000 lumens, making it the projector of choice for theaters, conference centers, corporate boardrooms, theme parks, museums, educational institutions and medical facilities.

“There is an increasing need for high resolution projectors due to the increase in videos or presentations that were designed with images of intricate details and color. The Canon research team has fitted the WUX4000 with the LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) panels, a Canon proprietary technology that delivers crisp and detailed color images, perfect for the entertainment industry’s needs and even hospital use,’ said Donny Ling, Director of Consumer System Products Division, Canon Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

A DICOM SIM mode in the XEED WUX4000 makes it the perfect projector for medical-related imagery. Offering accurate grayscale renderings of X-rays and CT scans, perfect for pre-surgery in-hospital briefings, medical-related lectures and scientific presentations.

For photography buffs, the XEED WUX4000 features two dedicated photographic imaging modes – Vivid Photo and Photo/sRGB. Vivid Photo induces greater vibrancy in multi-colored images, especially pale hues and whites, while Photo/sRGB is designed to faithfully reproduce the delicate color accents of the original source image even in well-lit settings.

The convenience of a 360-degree installation orientation is complemented with a motorized lens shift function, which enables users to shift the projected image position vertically and horizontally to work around minor projector placement obstacles like pillars.
