Heading Into the Cloud with Intel
Intel today held a briefing about the latest cloud computing technologies available in the market to date, and how it enhances the way businesses are conducted.

Boyd Davis, Vice President and General Manager, Datacenter Infrastructure Group of Intel was present to head the briefing today, where he explained in detail about Intel’s Xeon Processor E5 family as well as introduced the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v2 processors.
He also explained the concept of ‘Big Data’ which is the term used to describe raw data that amounts to petabytes (1,000TB). He explained that are three core concerns when dealing with Big Data, and these can be overcome, thanks to the Intel Xeon Processor E5 family, along with several innovative solutions from various developers. The three core concerns include the sheer amount of volume, the velocity needed to process this data, and the variety of data.

The briefing ended as Davis explained the advantages of being able to analyze Big Data: the improvement of public safety and economic growth, up to 50% decrease in product development and assembly costs, and an increase in overall revenue for businesses, thanks to analytics driven recommendations.
