Hands-on with Rosewill's New RK-9100 Series Mechanical Keyboard

For lovers of clickety mechanical keyboards, Rosewill has announced their new RK-9100 series at COMPUTEX 2012.

First off, the RK-9100 keyboards will use the very popular Cherry MX Switch, which ensures tactile feedback and long life operation (up to 50 million clicks). That aside, the keyboard has a standard 104-key QWERTY layout with function keys that doubles as shortcuts, and it also comes with 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Rosewill says the keyboard supports 6-key rollover, so up to six keys can be pressed at any one time. One feature that we found interesting was that the backlit keys has three illuminated modes and four brightness levels. The keyboards will come with either blue, red or white backlights - the color of the LED lights cannot be switched.

From our short time with the RK-9100 series, we can say that we liked its feel. The construction of the keyboard feels solid thanks to the metal inner chassis and the keys were a joy to type on and felt responsive. For those who find the clickety noises of mechanical keyboards therapeutic, we are happy to report that the Rosewill RK-9100 makes all the right noises.
