Canon Malaysia is celebrating 20 consecutive years of being the number one inkjet printer brand in Malaysia the only way they know how: By launching 13 new printers.

The list includes the affordable PIXMA E410 and E470 ‘Ink Efficient’ multifunction printers, the PIXMA TS5070 and TS8070 wireless photo printers, the PIXMA G4000 ‘Refillable Ink Tank’ multifunction printer, the MAXIFY iB4170, MB5170, and MB5470 single- and multifunction business printers, the imageCLASS LBP 351x and LBP 352x monochrome laser printers, the imageCLASS MF416dw and MF515x monochrome multifunction printers, and finally, the imageCLASS LBP841Cdn A3 color laser printer.

Because we don’t want to end up drowning you with the features and specifications of the 13 aforementioned printers, we’ll keep things simple by highlighting one new printer model belonging to each of Canon’s five printer series.

The Canon PIXMA E470

First up, the PIXMA E470, which retails for a very affordable price of RM314. It’s capable of printing up to 400 monochrome documents and speeds of up to 8.0 ipm, and up to 180 color documents at speeds of up to 4.0 ipm.

Because it has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, you can connect to the PIXMA E470 directly from your smartphone through its Access Point Mode, or send it print jobs through the Canon PRINT INKJET/SELPHY app. The PG-47 black ink cartridge of the PIXMA E470 has a page yield of 400 pages, while its CL-57S color ink cartridge has a page yield of 180 pages.

The Canon PIXMA TS8070.

Next, we have the PIXMA TS8070 wireless photo printer, which is equipped with a six-color hybrid ink system that ensures your photos are printed out with beautifully vibrant colors. What’s rather unique about the PIXMA TS8070 is its ability to print out business cards, as well as photos that are 5-inch x 5-inch (square) in size. If you’re wondering what the latter looks like, just take a look at the square-shaped photos of your Instagram feed.

The PIXMA TS8070 also sports a 4.3-inch LCD color touchscreen with an ‘Intelligent Touch System’, NFC connectivity, auto duplex printing, and wireless printing. It’s capable of printing out black and white documents at speeds of up to 15 ipm, and color documents at speeds of up to 10 ipm. You can purchase the PIXMA TS8070 from November onwards for RM841.

The Canon PIXMA G4000.

Next, we have the PIXMA G4000, which as you might’ve guessed, is the newest addition to the PIXMA G series printers that were launched last year. Its special feature? Churning out up to 7,000 color pages and up to 6,000 color pages before needing a refill.

Like its predecessor, the PIXMA G4000 has an integrated ink tank system and spill-resistant ink bottles. But new on the PIXMA G4000 is a two-line LCD display that will show the printer’s current status, and the ability to send faxes. As far as printing speed is concerned, the PIXMA G4000 will print out 8.8 black and white images per minute, and 5.0 color images per minute.

The PIXMA G4000 will be available in November for RM1,011.

The Canon MAXIFY MB5470.

Businesses and SOHOs looking for a speedier multifunction inkjet printer, meanwhile, would probably be more interested in the MAXIFY MB5470, which has a substantially faster maximum black and white document print speed of 32.5 ipm, and a maximum color document print speed of 26.5 ipm.

The MAXIFY MB5470 has a 3.5-inch touch-sensitive LCD panel for easy navigation, two large capacity cassettes to hold up to 500 sheets of A4 paper, and water-resistant ink to prevent unsightly smudges.

The MAXIFY MB5470 is currently available with a retail price of RM1,264.

Canon didn't have the imageCLASS LBP352x on display earlier today, so here's its younger sibling, the imageCLASS LBP351x, which has a slightly lower print speed of 55 ppm.

Upping the ante when it comes to print speeds is the RM6,650 imageCLASS LBP352x monochrome single-function laser printer, which has a commendable print speed of 62 ppm. Because the imageCLASS LBP352x is designed with full-fledged businesses in mind, it can be equipped with multiple cassettes to increase its maximum paper capacity to a whopping 3,600 sheets of paper.

The same goes for its ink cartridge. Fit it with a high-yield ink cartridge, and it will be able to print out up to 25,000 pages before needing a refill. Its standard cartridge has a page yield of 11,000 pages, which is still pretty respectable.

The Canon imageCLASS MF515x.

Need your monochrome printer to do more than just printing? Then the imageCLASS MF515x multifunction monochrome printer is for you, as can likewise print scan, copy, and fax your documents as well.

It has a 3.5-inch touch-sensitive LCD panel, and a print speed of 40 ppm. It can accommodate up to 1,600 sheets of paper at a single time, and comes with an auto duplex print function to reduce paper consumption, as well as an auto duplex scanning feature to quickly scan double-sided documents. The standard ink cartridge of the imageCLASS MF515x has a page yield of 6,000 pages, while its high-yield counterpart would offer double the page yield – 12,500.

The imageCLASS MF515x multifunction monochrome printer is already available for purchase for RM3,980.

The Canon imageCLASS LBP841Cdn.

Last but not least, we have the imageCLASS LBP841Cdn A3 color laser printer, which is designed to support high-volume color printing. Its high yield black ink cartridge has a page yield of 13,000 pages, while its high yield color ink cartridge has a page yield of 16,500 pages.

The imageCLASS LBP841Cdn has a print speed of 26 pages per minute for both color and monochrome documents, and is compatible with a variety of different paper types (plain, heavy, coated) and paper sizes (A3 to A5). It can be purchased now for RM8,620.
