Canon launches third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series
Canon today announced the launch of their third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) A3 multi-function devices for businesses. Improving on their previous generation models, the iR-ADV 6500i and 8500 series has a sleeker personalized interface, and a myriad of new features.
Rodney Fong, CS Product Marketing Department BIS Division of Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd explains that one of the most noticeable difference in the third generation iR-ADV over the the previous generation is the look and color of the printers. The iR-ADV 6500i and 8500 series now comes in titanium white and damson black, a cleaner and modern color scheme that, according to Canon, fits best in the now popular minimalist office environment.
The most outstanding feature of the third generation iR-ADV is its MY ADVANCE interface. Taking hints from portable smart devices, the interface is much smoother, more intuitive, and can be personalized to every user, which is an improvement over the previous generation. With MY ADVANCED, the initial display screen, user interface language, and frequently-used settings and tasks can be customized to streamline workflow.
Another improvement is the security. The third generation iR-ADV has FIPS 140-2 validated HDD Encryption, HDD Data Erase, and HDD power lock. It also has built-in Remote Operator Software Kit, for IT administrators, to easily remotely assist users or perform firmware update through the Content Delivery System.
Last but not least, the third generation iR-ADV also has an abundance of optional finishers and modules to fit almost any need. It also has Intelligent Recovery module where it will shift back to sleep mode when not in use and recovers when users are detected approaching via motion sensors.
Fong added that the function is intelligent and will detect if the area is quiet or a heavy traffic area and adjusts itself accordingly.
The first of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE series are the monochrome iR-ADV 6500i and 8500 series. They are available now at authorized Canon distributors and retailers.
