Apple Partners with TomTom for Map-Related Content

Following the announcement of iOS 6's new Maps feature, there is no surprise then that Apple has signed a global agreement with TomTom for the acquisition of its maps and related content. With coverage in over 200 countries and territories, TomTom delivers up-to-date digital maps, which encompasses more than 35 millions kilometers globally. This includes up-to-date route planners, as well as live traffic information.

One of the world's leading supplier of in-car location and navigation products and services, TomTom was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Amsterdam. Its portable navigation devices, in-dash infotainment systems, fleet management solutions, maps and real-time services, including its award-winning TomTom HD Traffic, is sold in nearly over 40 countries worldwide.
