Acer's ICONIA and TimelineX Take Center Stage at Plaza Low Yat

Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaAcer Malaysia has just launched a trio of mobile computing devices at Plaza Low Yat, Kuala Lumpur earlier today.

The triple product launch saw the introduction of the ICONIA 484G64, a dual screen tablet device, the ICONIA TAB W500, a tablet device complete with a keyboard docking system, and a new addition to the Aspire Timeline series, the Aspire TimelineX 4830TG.

Kicking off the event, Ricky Tan, General Manager of Acer Sales and Services Sdn Bhd, opened with a speech saying, “With the launch today, Acer Malaysia now offers a complete range of mobile products to meet the diverse usage needs of our customers.”

Also present at the event was Low Sin Yip, OEM Director of Microsoft Malaysia, who expressed his enthusiasm, explaining that “Microsoft is delighted to partner Acer in developing these iconic products equipped with Windows 7 operating system.”

Acer ICONIA 484G64

Winning the 'Last Gadget Standing' contest at the Consumer Electronic Show 2011, this dual screen tablet comes equipped with the exclusive Acer Ring feature, which allows users to quickly and easily browse through a myriad of user-friendly applications, such as TouchBrowser, TouchPhoto, TouchMusic, and TouchVideo.

Furthermore, the unit runs on a powerful Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB DDR3 memory, comes stocked with Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium OS and is available at a RRP of RM3,699.

Acer ICONIA TAB W500

Following the sneak peek of the device earlier this month, Acer also launched the ICONIA TAB W500 at the event. This tablet incorporates multi-touch portability with full productivity by utilizing a hybrid design which allows the unit to be docked on a full QWERTY keyboard.

Running on a AMD C-50 processor with 2GB of DDR3 memory, the unit comes priced at a RRP of RM1,699 and is expected to hit store shelves by the second week of April.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG

Last but definitely not least, Acer also added a new device, Aspire TimelineX 4830TG, to its Timeline series of notebooks. The new TimelineX 4830TG is supported by Intel's second-generation Core processors. The unit sports a 640GB hard disk drive and has a stock 4GB DDR3 memory, which is upgradable to 8GB.

Priced at RM2,499, the TimelineX 4830TG is expected to be shipped nationwide before the end of April 2011.

In conjunction with the launch, Acer is also offering a trade-in program, which allows customers to trade in any of their old computers – working or otherwise – for a RM200 rebate on selected products at participating dealers from March 24 to April 13, 2011.
