As Day 2 of the HP Global influencer Summit 2012 gets underway, we were once again back at the Shanghai Expo Center for more in-depth look at what drives the innovation at HP and we even got an insight on what the future holds.
The first track of the day was of course the All-In-One presentation where once again, Stacy Wolff, Vice President, Design, Personal Systems Group, HP stepped up to show us where the All-In-One (AiO) PC stems from and what its future holds. He explains that just in the past few years, AiO PCs have been accelerated in every region and is expected to take an even bigger chunk of the market in the future. And since then, HP has strived to lower the cost of AiOs, while boosting the performance of these devices.
“We see that the AiO is no longer just a PC but it is fast becoming a lifestyle product and very soon, it will be a centerpoint in every consumer’s lifestyle,” added Stacy Wolff.
And this is exactly why HP has taken such measured steps from design all the way to production and even managed to fine-tune their current AiOs to ensure that these devices are easy to use for every segment of the market, ranging from children to professionals alike.
World Without Print
All over the world, we are hearing whispers that print is slowly dying out. However, HP is confident that this is not exactly the case and they have commissioned a study where they asked customers to live without print for five days. The results indicated that the role of prints was vastly underestimated and the participants found that the true scope of print is so broad and deeply ingrained in their lives that print deprivation in this day and age is virtually impossible.
In conjunction with this, HP also worked with Chase Jarvis, photographer and visual artist on a documentary called ‘7 Days Without Print: The Spring Green Experiment’, which will be airing in New York on June 14, 2012.
Quality and Reliability
In this segment, we were given a sneak peek at what goes on in HP’s testing labs with representatives from HP test centers around the world to guide us through their respective procedures.
